The efficient airport sprayer

Every couple of minutes a plane lands on the runway. You have to work quickly and efficiently to ensure that air traffic is not disrupted. Safety is the highest priority but the environment should also not be unnecessarily damaged. In order to meet these requirements, Schmidt developed the ASP 45 Metres, which enables you to spray the whole runway in a single pass.

Design and technology

The ASP 45 is comprised of 4 components: the body with system frame, the compartment (pump, distribution system, control panel), the fluid tank and a balancing system with folding spray arms. Due to its modular design, we can adjust the machine to optimally meet your requirements. Due to the body only reaching the height of the cabin and the low-fitted folding spray arms, there is a low centre of gravity, which enhances safety when driving at high speeds. The spray arms were specially designed for airport operation, so that they are able to withstand even extreme situations like emergency stops. The whole machine is treated with a specially developed anticorrosion agent.

Fast, safe and precise

The ASP 45 battles ice through prevention as well as treatment. With the spray arms folded out, the ASP 45 has a spray width of 45 metres. This means that it can spray the whole runway in a single pass, which keeps operation times and damages to the environment to a minimum. With the spray nozzle and long-range nozzle, the ASP 45 releases an exact volume of de-icing agent and with high density of precipitation. The low-pressure pumping system with its airinjector nozzles used by Schmidt is able to work with low spray pressure. In addition, the spray nozzles are located closely above the surface of the ground and form large drops. Therefore, swirl is reduced to a minimum. The nozzles arranged closely side by side create overlapping spray patterns, which provide increased safety.

Simple, logical and user-friendly

The ASP is controlled through the clear CL control panel. Simple programming and ergonomic knobs for the most important functions ensure that the driver can concentrate on the airfield while operating it.
